Marina Charter initiative was awarded the contract for the management of 104 berths in La Lonja Marina in a public tender by the Port Authority of the Balearic Islands.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #003366;\">With its forward-looking concept based on environmental management and energy efficiency, the project won over the tendering revolutionizing the use of energy in the port\n      <\/div>\n                  \n            <div class=\"ue-item-text\">Modern yachts, which are often equipped with powerful battery systems and renewable energy sources such as solar and wind power, become active energy suppliers for port operations. \n\nThe system makes it possible to feed surplus energy from yachts into the port grid to power infrastructure such as lighting, pumping systems, administration buildings or, for example, charging stations for electric vehicles. This significantly reduces the port's carbon footprint and creates a model for the sustainable development of marinas worldwide. It combines sustainability with technological innovation and relies not least on cooperation between port operators and yacht owners.<\/div>\n            \n    <\/div>\n    \n        \n  <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"uc_post_grid_style_one_item ue-item\">\n  \n  \n    <div class=\"uc_post_grid_style_one_image ue-image-holder\">\n      <div class=\"uc_post_image\" style=\"background-image: url(https:\/\/www.yates-mallorca.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/stag-marina-la-lonja-kathedrale-768x576.jpg);\"><\/div>\n    <\/div>\n    \n  <div class=\"uc_content padding\">\n    <div class=\"ue-content-wrapper\">\n      \n                  <div class=\"ue-item-title\">\n          Strong partners\n      <\/div>\n                  \n            <div class=\"ue-item-text\">Together with the Palma Aquarium, the University of the Balearic Islands and many other institutions, Lonja Marina Charter will be working on projects in the coming years to study the flora and fauna as well as the water quality of the Balearic Islands' harbors.The aim is to teach everyone - especially schoolchildren - about sustainability using the example of the resources on board a yacht. \n\nLonja Marina Charter was founded in 2009 as a joint venture between six competing companies: Alboran, Cruesa, Latitud Cero, Viva Charter, ECC Charter and Yates Mallorca.
